Florence, 16 November – An exceptional recognition received by the Italian brand Zoom Bags and its creator Chiara Caramelli. The Pop Up eco-trolley was in fact included among the candidates for the ADI Compasso d'Oro Award, the oldest but above all the most authoritative global design award promoted by ADI, the Italian Industrial Design Association.

The prize – Established in 1954, the Compasso d'Oro Award was born from an idea of Gio Ponti . Organized for years by the La Rinascente department store with the aim of highlighting the value and quality of Italian design products, it was subsequently donated to the ADI which, since 1958, has taken care of its organisation, ensuring its impartiality and integrity.

The ADI Compasso d'Oro Award is awarded on the basis of a pre-selection carried out by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory, made up of a commission of experts, designers, critics, historians, specialized journalists, members of the ADI or external to it, committed to evaluating and selecting the best products that will participate in the Award every 2 years and which are published in the ADI Design Index yearbooks.

This year the total number of products selected in the various Design categories, from Living to Mobility, from Design for Social Affairs to Design for Communication, were 270.

The three major themes that guided the selection of products by the ADI commissions are “Freedom, System, Quality” .

“Being free means realizing ourselves together” as the philosopher Byung-Chul Han teaches us. And therefore the "freedom" of ideas, of proposals within an Italian production "system" which materializes them in "Quality" products, also and above all understood as “sustainability” .

The Pop-Up trolley is part of the 19 products selected in the Personal Design category.

Pop Up by ZOOM BAGS – Pop Up is an EVA rubber trolley unbreakable and a two-wheeled one by ZOOM BAGS that does innovation, design and sustainability are its strong points. Composed for over 60% recycled material from shoe sole processing waste , the trolley can be customized in the color of the linings 100% recycled PES , which are removable and washable in water.
